Since its formation in 1979 the company has acquired extensive expertise in the provision of ultrasonic thickness measurement for the marine industry and has undertaken a considerable number of hull surveys involving all the major classification societies. it is the aim of the company to invest in the latest techniques and technology in order to provide its clients with an improved and efficient service.

Comada have developed and refined a technologically advanced service for ultrasonic thickness determination of ships hulls, tanks and associated steelwork. using rugged, yet lightweight digital ultrasonic flaw detectors with integral thickness gauges together with custom written data transfer software and notebook computers, thickness readings are logged within the ultrasonic unit in the working environment of the ships structure.

Other non destructive testing services provided include ultrasonic inspection of welds, parent material, bonding, and alloy materials, radiographic inspection using both X and gamma rays, magnetic particle and dye penetrant inspection, CCTV remote inspections, acoustic ranging to detect leaks and blockages in pipework systems, and tank floor inspections for monitoring corrosion of bulk liquid storage tanks.

Inspection services are also performed, these include paint coating supervision, the inspection of structural steelwork on site, weld inspection, and mechanical /electrical inspections.
